Healing newly tattooed skin

A tattoo can heal within a few days. However, it is extremely important to be consistent with its care! Did you know that actual skin healing with a new tattoo can take up to 6 months?
The healing stages of a new tattoo
The body, as in all other cases, goes through a cycle until it has healed from any intrusive procedure. The healing of the skin after a new tattoo is divided into 4 stages:
1. Redness, leakage
The artist who made your tattoo will tie it up as soon as it is finished and ready. He will let you know when to remove the gel or bandage, which ranges from hours to days.
Once the bandage is removed you will notice that liquid is oozing from your new tattoo and that the skin surrounding it has turned red. It is also normal to see ink running from the tattoo. This can last for a week or so, but if after this time there is no improvement, you should visit your dermatologist.
2. Itching
It is not uncommon for a wound to feel itchy when it heals. And, unfortunately, tattoos are actually wounds.
In the first couple of weeks it is likely that the tattoo will cause itching and begin to peel. At first, you should resist the urge to scratch it off. Applying a healing gel can give you relief and help you heal much more effectively.
You can also use an ice pack and place it on the tattoo to slightly numb the area and relieve the itching.
If after all this the itching doesn’t go away, then you should see your dermatologist and maybe he or she will prescribe an antihistamine.
3. Peel off
After the second week your tattoo will start to peel off. This is the most normal reaction of the skin trying to heal. The tattoo itself will not peel off. Don’t worry, it’s a sign that your tattoo is healing properly. Attention! Do not pull anything protruding from the new tattoo. If you pull on the skin there is a chance that you will also pull the skin with the tattoo on it and ruin the design!
4. Care
After the first month, your tattoo will look alive and fully healed. It’s very easy to remember to apply healing products for the first time, but even when it seems like all the symptoms have passed, you should continue to take care of your skin. This will help your tattoo look clean, vibrant exactly like you dreamed it would.
Tips for the Care of the tattoo
Cleanliness
Keeping your tattoo clean is the first and best step to ensure that no contamination happens to you. You should use a hypoallergenic soap, free of dyes and perfumes. If the water in your area is not completely clean use deionized water or boil water and let it cool and wash the tattoo area with it. Use a soft, absorbent towel and allow the tattoo to dry completely before moisturising the skin.
Hydration
The tattoo artist will suggest a moisturizing gel or cream to use for the first time on your new tattoo. We recommend CBDERMA CEL, which instantly restores the health of the skin with a new tattoo, thanks to its unique formula, ensuring maximum skin regeneration and healing!
The specialized liposomes moisturize the skin in depth, relieves itching and gives the skin what it needs after the tattoo session.
The triple action of CBDERMA CEL, anti-inflammatory – healing – regenerative, along with intensive hydration, gives an immediate and lasting solution to the skin with new tattoo, making it heal faster and come alive!
Sun protection
In the first few months after your new tattoo you should cover it with sunscreen and avoid exposure to the sun. Sunlight fades tattoos to an irreversible degree.
However, it is advisable not to use sunscreen directly on the fresh tattoo, as the thick consistency of sunscreens blocks the skin pores and can cause infection and blockage.
The art of dermatostasis is special and different. But it needs the corresponding responsibility, since it has to do with our body and our health. Cheers to your new tattoo. Enjoy it!
